Thanks everybody for the help yesterday when the battery died. Especially to Mark (who isn't on the board) for his generosity in swopping his for mine for diagnostics. Also to Glen from Pit Lane http://www.pitlane-motorcycles.com/ who happened to be at home when I called!

Great Rideout. It had everything you could wish for (and some you wouldn't wish for).

Good turnout - Marco, Mark, Martin, Andy, Iceman, Valkeire, Kenpored, Pedro,Walton and Peter. Welcome to Andy on his first FC rideout.
Weather started off looking a bit dull but warmed up nicely as we travelled south with a high of about 24 degrees.

Spin down south was over a mixture of roads with some good group riding and discipline. Stopped in Kilkenny for coffee and a long natter - like a crowd of old women who hadn't met in months. Had a bit of misfortune with the battery on Marco's bike outside Dungarvan. He was fortunate to be eventually helped out by a bikeshop there who looked after him very well (on a Sunday as well). Fair play to the bikeshop. See Marco's previous post for details of the gent in question.

Some of the attendance had used up time (and brownie points) at that stage due to the delays & extended coffee breaks and headed off home. The remainder of the crew headed for Lismore and a restaurant about 5km further on. It was about 4.45p.m. by the time we got there and they were closed for food at that stage. It was a lovely looking place and the food comes highly recommended - pity about our timing.

We headed back to Lismore for a bite to eat. It's a lovely little town with the magnificent castle. Two of the lads headed off to get photos from two local spots for the IBF Photo rally. We ate at hotel in main street - fairly nice grub.

Getting late by that stage so we decided to head for home. Straight out to the Cork motorway by way of the Vee and a few minor detours here and there and on home

Got home around 9'ish having covered about 300 miles and several litres of coffee.

It was a great day - good weather, good turnout, nice roads, very good company and a satisfied grin back on my face.

This was my first long day out in a while and I was tired after it, but in a nice way. A bit stiff here and there this morning but it's good practise for the FC10 trip.
